  • Jesse Meredith volunteered to help
  • Contact Jenna Zemark to volunteer:  jzemrak@aos92.org
  • Holiday Shop Proposal
  • Kinda like the Book Fair, a week long holiday shop would be set up in the cafeteria. Students would visit to purchase items for family and friends at low cost
  • Voted to postpone and reconsider for next year
  • General sentiment was that students would probably love it, but not enough time to coordinate this year
  • Here is contact info for next year: Valerie Ramirez 888-577-2824, valerie.ramirez@penguinpatch.com

PTA Newsletter Revamp

  • Erikia Gallup volunteered to write a PTA newsletter
  • Carrie LeVan will send past examples, but Erikia has the freedom to create something new
  • Goal is to write monthly, but will be dependent on content

Proposal for Elementary School Yearbook

  • Rebecca Parker proposed and volunteered to coordinate the creation of an elementary school yearbook via Tree Ring, which works with our current school photographer and uses the Shutterfly interface to create design
  • Price: 40 pages = $15; 56 pages = $20
  • Need to have the project finished three week before delivery, Sarah St. Pierre suggested delivery the week of Field Day to allow for time to sign
  • Erica Morrison will reach out to Peter Hallen to find out about school privacy issues
  • Wanted to make a scholarship fund to help support students who can’t afford—some suggestions:
  • Get local businesses to buy ad space to offset the cost
  • Create option for parents/teachers to sponsor a student
  • Perhaps focus fund raising to guarantee that every 5th grader gets one yearbook before graduating from elementary school

Teacher Appreciation:

  • Need to settle on a teacher/staff holiday gift. Options:
  • Return to the Daily Treat basket for the full week leading up to the winter break
  • Add a daily $5.00 bucket drawing for the week
  • Add possibly a grand prize drawing for the last day of school
  • This would be the week of December 18 – 22nd (Friday is an early release)
  • Sarah St. Pierre suggested reaching out to the Mid Maine Chamber for possible gift certificates or additional donations of goods to give to teachers.
  • Carrie LeVan will put Sarah Staffiere in contact with the 7 new volunteers for Teacher Appreciation. They will try to meet to finalize plans
  • Need to make decision quickly in order to provide time for ordering/purchasing items and/or securing donations of goods.

Thanks to everyone who came and welcome to all the new volunteers!!  See ya next month!
