- Offer Pages for School Specials
- Offer Pages for School Clubs
- Be sure we know who are the students with image restrictions earlier—possibly have principals distinguish between online vs. print image restrictions.
- Possibly increase as either a fundraiser or so that we can cover costs for low SES students. Probably can’t fund all students, but maybe target a grade level like fifth grade.
- Will do again next year

- New Officers for 2024-2025 School year Are…
- PTA President: Sarah LeVan
- Vice President: Carrie LeVan
- Teacher Appreciation Coordinator: Sarah Staffiere
- Treasurer: Jesse Meredith
- Secretary: David Motel
- Communications Coordinator: ??? Still open, hope to fill in the Spring
- Historian: ??? Possibly a new position to fill, the goal would be to have someone designated to take pictures and upload to the Google Drive for: Facebook, Website, and Yearbook
Calendar for Next Year:
- One goal in these changes is to try and incorporate more events at the ASHS. So, I’ve highlighted where there are events at one school versus the other and when an event will be held at both schools.
- All PTA monthly meetings will be virtual except for the first two, which will be held in-person, alternating school sites for recruitment.
Possible Changes:
- Open House: August—Both Schools
- September PTA Meeting: in-person GJMS (for recruiting new members)
- October PTA Meeting: in-person ASHS (for recruiting new members)
- Pumpkin Give-Away: October—ASHS (Will discuss as a possible event to offer pumpkin give-away to families)
- BINGO Night 1: October–GJMS
- Election Day Event: November—Both Schools (Need approval from superintendent and to present to team leaders. Can this be added to curriculum? How about having lower grades vote for something other than president, like pizza vs. hot dogs?) The idea is to run a faux election to socialize children on the importance of civic engagement and democracy.
- Donation Drive: January—continue with this in January
- Trivia Night: January—ASHS
- BINGO Night 2: March-GJMS
- Science Fair: April—ASHS—Carrie LeVan and Sarah Staffiere are meeting with Amy
- Murphy to discuss possible ideas for fifth grade science fair and what this would look like and what role the PTA would play.
- Family Skate Night: May
- Back-to-School Night: May/June—Both Schools, again this is still to be discussed, but this is essentially like an open house but at the end of the year. It is an opportunity for teachers and families to celebrate all that students have learned throughout the year.
- Community Carnival: June–GJMS
Summer Beautification Initiatives
ASHS Requests?
- Paint Bathrooms
- Flowers for Planters
- Clean-up garden beds
GJMS Requests?
- Possible playground blacktop update
- Add flowers/garden to front of school
- When would we do this?
- Late July
- Next Steps?
- Look for donations: paint, flowers, mulch
- Get approval from district
- Volunteers?
- We will touch base a little later to see whether there is any momentum to try and do these.
- Another option would be to do a little Fall Clean up and planting prior to open house in the fall.
- So, we may touch back in August.

Message from the outgoing president:
This has been one of our most successful years! We raised over $16,000! We funded over $11,000 in
student enrichment opportunities and gave back to our teachers in over $4,000 acts of appreciation! In
addition to all of this, we helped build community! We hosted 2 BINGO nights, our first ever Family Trivia
Night, and our annual Family Skate Night. We ended the year with our second annual Community
Carnival, which brought together hundreds of families and community members together to celebrate our
wonderful city and all of the people who make it a great place to live: educators, police officers, fire
fighters, EMT’s, librarians, artists, parents, grandparents, neighbors, friends, and family! I’m so proud and
honored to have worked with every teacher, administrator, and volunteer this year. Together, we have
dared to dream big for our schools and students and this community. I can’t wait to see what we will
accomplish next year.
